The distributive property is a way to write the product of a number and a sum as the sum of two things.

In today's class, you will see how we can solve equations where the distributive property can be used to convert the equation into a two step problem.  We can also solve the equations using reverse order of operations using the two steps of "multiplication" followed by a "bracket".
